I was not alive during the war, I was born ten years afterwards to the day. However this is my only opportunity of saying "thank you" to all the brave men and women of the armed forces, and those who stayed at home and worked the land or munitions factories for the county. If you had not made the effort, many indeed made the supreme effort, then I would not be here today to say thank you. I owe you all my life and I am grateful, so are my children. To see those magnificent men and women today at "buck house", in uniform , many with medals, made me more proud of being British than anything else in my life. Least we forget. I will not. Thank you one and all.
