I was apparently born under a kitchen table during an air-raid. My sister was 2 1/2 years older than me, but I had to be placed in the air-raid shelter first as she would scream the street down! I went on the bus with my mum one day to go to the local farm for a piglet. On the way back on the bus (we had the piglet in a shawl) a policeman sat opposite and my mother was terrified in case I told him about our illicit cargo!!
