I was around about 10 or 12 years of age and I remember someone telling me that two Spitfires collided near Mountpleasant and one landed on a house and killed Mrs Cox and her two daughters and the other landed on a playing ground about 50 yds away. The pilots were French Canadains and both were killed. One was jewish and is buried in the jewish cemetry up there and the other is buried in a cemetry in Cefncoed and flowers have been left there for all these years.
