This is the story of how my mother met my father. She went along to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool on the 4th July 1944. She had been dragged along by her friend who was mad about Americans. She didn't want to go but her friend was her best friend so she couldn't say no.

Amongst the Americans there were also some Poles from the RAF. After training all day my father and his friends had come to the Tower Ballroom to check out the talent. My father asked my mother to dance; he asked to see her again; and within the year they were married.

They were married for fifty six years before my mother passed away and my father died in 2002.
