My Mum and Dad lived in Hilders Bungalow, Redding Street on the Appledore Road out of Tenterden.
They were involved with Dig For Victory and had their own vegetable garden. My Mum had thirty two evacuees throughout the war. They used to get a chicken and put it on the nest and expect it to lay an egg. They were in and out of all the doors and windows all the time. They used to poke the calf to make him put his tail up.
