This story was submitted to the Peoples War story by Habi Rahman. 4 hours on patrol, the Bren Gunner was fatally wounded when we were ambushed; we managed to fight our way out somehow and safely made our way back to base. On the way back I felt very dizzy, so I reported to the medics for help, the medic said I had 鈥渜uimzy鈥 and a severe temperature. I was taken to a tent hospital; the doctor thought I had been shot because he saw bandages around my neck, the bandages were taken off and the doctor found the real problem, I was there seven days before being flown to Camilla Base Hospital by Tiger Mota. At the Base I was told that I could not have my tonsils out because the throat specialist had been flown out to Delhi, so I still have bad tonsils to this day.
