I remember seeing a notice in the butchers window saying 鈥渟orry no offal鈥�. Many years later I asked my mother what it meant and she explained that meat was on ration but not offal i.e. kidneys and liver etc, therefore queue鈥檚 and requests for offal were frequent. I also remember my mother buying men鈥檚 shaving soap stick instead of soap.
