My Dad,Lance Corporal Bunting, received the Military Medal, stationed at Dunkirk, where his colleague was killed and he immediately replaced him, directing traffic in an extremely hostile situation. It was an act of bravery deservingly winning the Medal he received.

Message 1 - Military medal

Posted on: 02 October 2005 by Trooper Tom Canning - WW2 Site Helper

Janet -
Many men of the Military Police stood in the middle of crossroads directing traffic whilest under shell and mortar fire - they ALL deserved medals for how they acted to cooly as their colleagues fell as they watched.
They never had enough recognition
in my view !
