We lived in Horsham Cottages on Butt Park Road in Honicknowle, Plymouth during the war.
Near to where we lived was the brick yard belong to the Western County Brick Works. During one air raid the yard was bombed.
The gas and electric supply was cut off in all the houses in Horsham Cottages. Our house was number 14, and it was the only one with a range, so we did the cooking for everyone else in the street without gas and electricity until the supply was repaired. We served up the food on a first come, first served basis.
It was the only time that Honicknowle was bombed during the war.
