I was swimming in Mainporth in 1939 when I was told we were called up so returned to Budock where army trucks were waiting.
Said goodbye to Mother then was taken to bus which took us to Plymouth I was then on searchlight duty in Royal Artillery.
February 1943 sent to India took ten weeks to reach Bombay then across India to Chittagong from India I was sent to Burma till end war.
Joined Military Police sailed to Singapore there was trouble in Jakarta Indonesia so was sent there came home 1946 on HMS Andes
