I was never involved in the war, and my Mum was only 5 when it ended in 1945. I have heard many different stories, but the most memorable is the number of times that they had to leave due to air raids, they not only had to leave for the raids - they were bombed out three times. They lived in terrace housing and the whole community and family all helped each other to get through the difficult times.
There are many other stories, children in baskets moving from place to place.
People have lived and loved through the war and we need to remember all the efforts that were put in to help us in todays world.
