My name in 1939 was June Ashby. I lived with my parents and 1 sister in Banstead, Surrey and attended Banstead Primary. I hated my time as an Evacuee. In 1940 my sister and I went to Ramsbury, Wilts to live with our Aunt. She gave our rations to her 3 children. I came back and had TB in my neck. In 1944 I was sent to Aldershot - I hated that too! I ended up with a crop of boils through poor food.
My parents did come to visit me during my evacuation. Their home was damaged during the war by a Doodle Bug.
