World War two began on September 3rd, 1939, with Britain and France declaring war on the Germans after sending men into Poland. There was two sides to the war -The Axis powes that included the Germans, Italiens, and Japenese. The next group included Britain and it's commonwealth, France, the United States, and the Soviet Union and were also on Briton's side; they were called the allied powers.
Many things happened in the war in Britain both abroad and in the nation itself. Many battles were fought over the channel in France, which the Germans had most control over, this also included Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Bulgaria, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Czechoslovakia also most of the Northen Africa were under German control. Turkey, Spain, and Sweden were the neutral countries that didn't have a great deal to do with the war.
