I was interned on the Isle of Man when I was only two years old.
Mum and Dad didn't tell me much, but one thing I do remember was that we stayed at the Belle View hotel in Port Erin.
My father was shipped off to Canada. Four large ships left for Canada. The Government there wanted men to do work - and my father, I believe, was lumberjacking ...
Father returned from Canada and we lived in the married camp on the Isle of Man.
My mother was very good at sewing ... and knitting. And my mother told me that Marlene Dietrich's dress maker was interned on the Isle of Man in Port Erin.
