I remember being evacuated the day war broke out. We didn鈥檛 know where we were going. We went from Clubmoor with my sister and mother and ended up in Borth in mid-Wales. We ended up in this school room; it was like a cattle market. Luckily someone took my sister and I, my mother was moved to somewhere else, we didn鈥檛 know where she was for a week. When we eventually found her she got us transferred to be with her. The second house, where my mother was and where we joined her, it was a manor home. The school was a little village one, we went in the mornings, the locals in the afternoon. We went in September but, came home in December.
