My mother spent her war years playing bass accordian with "Freda and her accordian band"- they played at Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Goole and the villages surrounding Crowle. The band consisted of Freda, Francis (deceased), Enid Cranidge (deceased) , Betty (now living in Austraila) and Tommy Trout (as the drummer-he was the local fishmonger by trade). They played in strict time and according to my mother they had a reputation for being a good band to dance to. She had a great time,a lot of fun and by the end of the war she had saved 拢200!
