Oxclose school was built on the place where two farms were. They were called 'High Oxclose Farm' and 'Low Oxclose Farm.' My parents were farming there during the war and there was one occasion when the air raid siren hadn't gone off and a German Bomber came along and scared them to bits, btu fortunately they got away unscathed.
