We lived in Stockport and I have great memories of Manchester being bombed and spending hours in our Anderson Shelter in the garden.

In the summer we had our annual holiday in Collwyn Bay in North Wales. We always went away for a week and we still went when the war was going on.

We travelled there by steam train which was always a great adventure.

I remember that my mother used to give our ration book to the landlady for the week so she could feed us.

There was no problem getting on to the beach. We used to play n the sands and go for a paddle or swim.
