My family lived at STODMARSH a place called ROOKARY NOOK, the closes village was sturry, i can remenber my mum telling me how dad flew down to the village as he had heard the local pub at been hit by the bomber, it was round about 1942, there are photoes of this in books. he manage to save a little girl who got caught in the ruble he was quite the hero of the day, but still very angry about the germans hitting what he called his pub.
