We came home from school for our lunch on our half crown bikes and when we sat down at the table the siren went. Our mum got us up and we went to the Anderson shelter in the garden. 2 hawker typhonns were in the air defending an attack on raf manston. The 12 focker wulf bombers were in the air being shot at by beaufort a-a guns , but the bombers released their bombs on the unsuspecting town of margate. A german plane that had been shot by a Typhoon came towards us out of the sky when we were running to our Anderson, and the pilot looked at us and started firing bullets which sprayed our house. We dived into our Anderson shelter as the plane crashed into Margate cemetery, and we thanked god we survived.
