Getting married in the war needed more imagination than now. Clothes were rationed so you needed to wear something you could use afterwards like a pink outfit rather than a white dress. Food was also difficult. You couldn't get the ingredients for the cake but a caterer could so you were obliged to use one. Despite this it was a happy day and travel by train for the honeymoon was not a problem by 1945.
