we lived in radford in coventry but were bombed
out when i was four years old. i was evacuated
to flore to live with my auntie and uncle for
two years and lived there with my cousins and
several evacuees from london. i started school
in the village hall as there were too many chil
dren for the normal school. we slept three in a bed, six in a room but had some good times.
when i returned home my father made bunk beds
in the anderson shelter and we used to go in there every night.
