This story was submitted to the Peoples War site by Ronnie Gwen鈥檚 brother was on leave from Dunkirk and had to report back to the barracks he was then posted to Middle East with the third pavilion Tank Regiment. From the letters that Gwen鈥檚 mum received she learned that his role in the tank regiment entailed many thins such as driving the tank and sometimes being the gunner. On the day when all the tanks were moving forward in a big line when Ronnie spotted one of his friends tank on fire he got out of his own and ran out to try and rescue them he had managed to save one of his friends then when returning for his second friend the tank blew up killing himself and the second friend.
