Combat all happens so quickly, it鈥檚 difficult to describe. It鈥檚 almost instinctive, well it was for me anyway, and I think the main instinct is to make sure there鈥檚 nobody on your tail. It might be different for other pilots. A lot of these Aces were very good shots for a start. And that鈥檚 very difficult because you never get right behind them, they鈥檙e always coming from an angle. Some people were absolutely brilliant at it. But when I was doing it I was shooting at the machines, I didn鈥檛 like to think about the people inside.
