I was married on 5th August 1944.
We had to use coupons for our wedding.
People gave us coupons. We managed to get ham and salad.
For the wedding cake we were given fruit and it was made with soya flour so it wouldn't keep and it had to be eaten straight the way.
Someone gave me coupons for my bridal dress.
We bought the bridemaids dresses - blue satin - there were two.
I was 22 years old when I married Thomas Charles.
