The war started when Mrs Helderson was 3years old. She was in her bedroom and remembers the planes going over her house in groups of four or fives.

Her Dad took her down to the were there was planes and they were hidden uner the trees Mrs Henderson could not go to close because there was a restriction of were they could go.

When she was at school they had to have practice putting on thier gas masks but if the alarm went of they had to run down a path way to go to the shelter, her Mum was worried because if a bomb would go off and it mightof hit her.

Mrs Henderson and her brother went home for her dinner and if her Mum was not there she left a note on the door saying "Gone to locks" locks was the greengrouchers, then she went to locks and took over were her Mum was and her Mum went home and made her dinner and she came back to the cue and went to get fruit. Her Mum ad to get fruit(e.g bananas and oranges) because there was little fruit.

Mrs Henderson`s Dad grew vegtables and a apple tree so that made it easyer to get she put her potatoes in the cellar.

Mrs Henderson was glad when the war was over because she did not have to worry. When she went to school there was a party with Great britain hats.

I have enjoyed listening to the stories about these times and realise just how lucky we are.
