Lower RH corner is north end (dead-end) of Second Avenue.
Major road system (blue) is M6 Motorway at Junction 14. In 1944, Crab Lane was a cart-track that ran between Stone Road and Eccelshall Road. The area north of the end of Second Avenue was open farmland and mixed woodland.

Flight path was SE-NW. Is sketched from visual memory and comments recorded in witness and police statements. Crash occurred between Creswell Home Farm and the Round Spinney, now close to a roundabout on Mustang Drive, the name of which commemorates the accident.

The attached map accompanies 'The Heroic Story of Captain Perin Parts 1-3' (by Stanley Jones) and shows the flight path of the Captains Mustang as described in Stanley Jones' account.

This story was submitted to the People鈥檚 War site by Jim Salveson on behalf of its author Stanley Jones and has been added to the site with his permission. The author fully understands the site's terms and conditions.
