Winifred Cambridge just after the war at the national childrens home Ebely Stroud,Glos. She did moral welfare work in Liverpool during WW2

My late Aunty Win (died at 99 2003) told me a little about her moral welfare work in the war!

I remember her telling me when she was a young 88 in her last trip back to the UK (From Canada where she went as a Sunday School Missionary in 1952) in 1992 as we drove past a church “that is where I first saw the light“?

From the 1920s she did church and other good work all he life! When the War came she volunteered and did moral welfare work?

So from a fairly peaceful Gloucestershire she was sent to Liverpool.

She told me Liverpool was not to bad but she didn’t like the bombs very much! When little, as I am sure we all did, I thought what a strict Aunty Win I have, but looking back she must have been something special, as all were in those dark days?
