In 1939 Ray's Mum bought all ingredients (flour, fat, dried fruit, fresh eggs etc) and made enormous puddings enough puddings were made for Ray and his family to have a Christmas Pud every year until 1945. Ray laughs and says he was one of the very few families who had the luxury of a pud each year. Puddings were made in white ceramic bowls and covered with a cloth and stored in a tin trunk under the stairs.

Ray and his wife are still using grandma's recipe to this day.
