My favourite night was Friday, because that was the night that my father who was a member of the ARP was on duty. This meant that I was allowed to sleep with my mother, which meant I had a lovely cuddle.
As the war went on I began to realise that when my father went out on duty he might be in some danger, and therefore I worried about him. If ever I hear an old ARP bell it always reminds me of Friday nights.
