Blackout
Oh yeah no street lights everybody used to carry a torch every night used to put either pull the curtains we had a frame with blackout material up and the old warden she used to come round and see a chink shut put that light out a brick would come through the window and they would.

Digging for Victory
…you know the top of Headington Hill where the school is now that used to be like a market garden used to grow their own fruit and veg used to go round there and get apples and pears and potatoes from there which of course only had to have so much…
