My Grandma lived in Coventry when it was bombed and in Isleworth Near London for the rest of the war.
My Grandad lived in Hornsea.
Grandama remembers: bombs, ration books, and black outs.
Grandma and her best friend were cycling home from work when a bomb exploded nearby and her best friend died.
Those were bad memories.
Most people had to make their own clothes. They wore overalls if they worked in a factory.
Grandma's family grew their own vegetables and fruit, and kept hens and rabiits to eat. Grandama is still afraid of loud bangs today as it reminds her of the bombing during the war.
