When I was called up I had to go to Stowmarket to work. They made 鈥淏omb Trolleys鈥.

I had to catch a bus at the Old Cattle Market at 7.30 am. That meant walking from Clifford Road, often running.

We sometimes had a 鈥淕as Bus鈥, i.e. a big gas bag on top and an engine chugging behind.

We had to get off and walk up Needham Hill, as the bus couldn鈥檛 make it if it was full of people.
