There is a clock which sits in my study that my grandfather, James Patrick, made during the second world war.
He was in the RAF at the time stationed in Essex, and made it by removing the clock from a British fighter plane. He also made a wooden base for it to sit on, turning the wood himself.
He made it for our family, and it was passed down for me to keep. It keeps very good time - when I can be bothered to wind it up!
I have no idea what kind of plane it came out of and I'm interested to find out more about it.
