I worked on the railways during the war.

One day when we were leaving Kings Cross and going through the tunnels there was a landmine hanging from a parachute on the two pillars on one of the tunnels.
It didn't explode.

The driver wrote a note and wrapped it round a piece of coal and dropped it at the signal box.

In 1946 I was married. My wife worked in Rearsby maintaining the schools and keeping them tidy.
