If you can recall
The short and the tall
You served with me

If you had a Sergeant from World War One
And marched with his son
You served with me

If you sailed away at the crack of dawn
And got a "dear John" after you'd gone
You served with me

If you called the desert 鈥渢he blue鈥
In '42
You served with me

If under Stuka's attack
You brengunned them back
You served with me

If what you sang about King Farouk
Rhymed with hook
You served with me

If when Tobruk fell
Your war ended as well
You served with me

If prison camps in desert sands
Led on to camps in foreign lands
You served with me

If in April 1945
You came "alive"
You served with me

If most of your comrades are now gone
Whilst you've lived on
You served with me

If now each November
You stand and remember
You served with me
