This story was submitted to the People's War site by Kat Pearson, a volunteer from CSV Action Desk on behalf of P. Homden and has been added to the site with their permission, they fully understand the terms and conditions.

My memories are of "doodle bugs" being chased by "Typhoon fighter bombers." The engines cut out over Ryde and the guns stopped firing to allow the fighters a chance to tip them off course before they fell into Portsmouth or Southampton. The sound of the K2 was just the same as London Underground trains and these still make my hairs at the back of my neck stand on end.
