We were just an ordinary family but because my dad worked in the ship yards he wasn鈥檛 sent to war. He was at work all day, and every time there was an air raid, he had to put on his Warden uniform and watch people and report any damage. He had to watch the planes and see where they dropped the bombs. If somebody accidentally moved their blackout curtain, they would be reported.
