When Chesterton was bombed I remember looking out of the bathroom window, looking up and seeing the pilot in the German plane
Blackouts were dangerous, my uncle walked along Keeling Street down Pit Green Lane towards Middleport and walked into a bollard He died five days later from a ruptured stomach
