***Pictures to be added***
From Chittagong we moved to a place called Silchar, which wasn't far from where the Japanese were. We then came back to India to a place called Mollea (?) and from there we went back to Kohima (?); we then went to the Indian side of the jungle. We then went to the other side of the jungle to Burma. We were south of Mandalay when it was VE Day. From there we went south to a place called Tongu (?). That's where we were stationed when we were in Burma. My job was to look after the Indian people who had joined the Japanese army. I then got my leave as I was getting married. My dad wasn't well, so I never went back, but the terms of my release meant that I could have been called up at any time if they wanted me.
I remember going to the pictures to see George Formby, and I picked up a copy of the Jungle Times, which I still have today.
