On St Leonards Road in Leicester there was music on loud speakers and people were dancing in the street.
This was an evening event and people came from all around to join in.

Dear Sir,

I noticed your post about music on the streets in Leicester.
I am researching my PhD in History and music is a vital part of my work.
I wonder if I could ask a couple of questions?
Do you have any other memories of music from the war?
Was it important to people to have music in their lives?
What kind of music was the best during the war?
