It was a foggy Saturday morning and I had gone to my Aunties in Cranes Park Road, Sheldon. I was playing on the hearth with my young cousin. Auntie said that she was going to the shop to get something for dinner. She had always told me that she was out and there was an air raid to go to under the stairs. (This was their pantry) The shops were only a short distance away and she had not gone long when the sound of an aircraft was heard and then machine gunning. I then saw the aircraft fly passed the window so low that I could see the outline of the pilot. I picked up my cousin and took her into the pantry where we played shop. When auntie returned she told me that it was them at the shops he had been machine gunning.
