I don鈥檛 really remember much. I was twelve at the start of the war, and remember taking my gas mask to school. If there was a raid, we had to shelter in the changing rooms, though I don鈥檛 think they had been particularly reinforced at all.

My mother was part of the WVS, and helped with mobile canteens.
