When the war broke up my sister and i went down to the drill hall in old market to see the solders walking out. I join the land amry when i was 17 half, I was sent to Cheltenham. I was there for a month training in thaching and i volunteered to go almonsbury. Two of us went to logdeings we were sent within an eight mile radius. we did theshing in the winter and hay making and harveting during the summer. I was in it for 3 half years. I was with a London girl and we were in logding together,We had lots of fun. We had good
food, extra food ration. We used to to to the local pub every night apart from wedndesday when we went to the local hop. One night we descided to go to the cinema called Cabot, we bumb into 4 american officers who asked us to go for a drink instead. so when it came to half 9 my friend asked if i wante dto go to the toliet which was out side. When we got out we went stright home. Meet them again the following evening, b ut refused to go agin for a drink and made our way to the pictures instead.
