Born on 21st sep 1930, had one brother younger than me, as I remember my father was too old for the army, we lived near sandhurst army college in the oldershort village, I remember we used to go to army base and they give us sweets when we were young. It was at night I remember the planes come they wanted to bombe the lakes first to stop the marines, as we went out I saw an army man land from the plane in a parachute. We were then taken way from our bungalow more over on top of a furniture van to stoke—on -Trent and that was during the war. One day me and my brother we were walking to school and we had siren, then two planes one was English and the other was German before we could figure out what it was we saw a police man pull us and took us to the police station for our safety, we were given musk to prevent us from gases and we used to wear them all time.
On d-day I remember my uncle was jumping out of the plane through parachute and was shot dead by the Germans. Still on d-day people gathered on street with lots of food and drinks to celebrate the d-day and after that we all went to our home and the war was over.
