This story is written by Mohammed Jasat about Florence Murphy
Florence Murphy was born in Devon in 1918 in England. She moved in Blackburn just before the war. She used to go to school where she spent most of her time.
In 1939 she was in the bathroom when the war was declared. At this time she was 21 and she lived on the farm with her family. In the family they were 3 girls and 3 boys.
Life for Florence was not hard because she lived in a calm area. At that time people were rationing but Florence had enough food because of her farm. The war changed many people鈥檚 lives but her life was good. During the war she used to go to sleep early and read a lot of books.
Her family were lucky because no one was called for war and no children from the city were evacuated to her farm but she was still busy because she had to look after some children.
Luckily she is still living but the rest of the family have died after the war.
