The prisoners used to come down and take water from my Grandma and the Germans came down and made me toys. The Germans were very nice to me and played with me.
When I was ill whenever my mother went shopping she would bring me back glossy magazines which smelled nice but were filled with pictures of the war which used to scare me. We had very creative foods because of there not being much food available. Things like powdered egg were quite nice. I lived in the countryside. I remeber German planes coming over and setting Coventry on fire.
