1st 1000 bombers daylight by B.C. load 6 tonnes. Germans tanks and troop concentralions saw convoys going to beachhead- wizand. no opposition.

15/7/44 Kiel
1st German??. Carried 'cookie' and "J" incendiaries as well as leaflets. Heavy flak & fighters. Good prang.

6/8/44 Stuttgart
Nice load with leaflets. Quite a quiet trip. Moderate flak & fighters. Bombs went safe.

What a find! Stuttgart again. lots of fighters. attacked by me. 110 otherwise a quiet trip. lots 62 a/c

Shaky "do". Hit with predicted flak en route, almost got the chop. Piece of flak through table too close to be funny. m./ug and w/op attacked in rear!! Bags of fighters & S/L's over target Coned. Corkscrewing like the clappers. Bang on prang.

29/8/44 Stettin
Long binding trip, but how cares-Joe for king. Coned over targets. Bags of flak & panick. No fighters encounted. Routed over swedden. The low types shot rockets at us. Anyway, we got back.

31/8/44 Pont Remy (FR)
Narrow on T.O. Violent swerve. Bombs half ml. From A.P. Target Robot debot. Spot of flak. otherise ok.

5/9/44 Le Havre
An interestiing trip. Oboe's 50th. My 13th. Leading navigator, 'bang on' show. Carried as passenger, Brig. Genral Schlatter USAAC. Accurate flak over target. Main force carried 1000 lb bomb for every German in le Havre.

10/9/44 Le Havre
Leading foundation. German roop and gun positions. 5000 tons. Opposition for bursts of fleck!! Saw damage from previous raids. City almost wiped out. "yank" taking photographs. Saw "Warspite" in channel.

formation leader again. First german target in daylight. Synthetic oil plant. Passed through outer defenses of Ruhr - we dont want to go there!! Saw Halifax blow up. Lanc. go down over target. Good prang. smoke to 12000. heavy flack on route. 15 trip half a tour finished!! p.s. good work and co-op form jock.

15/10/44 Willhelmshaven
fisrt trip for 5 weeks German navel base. 9/10 cloud at target. flsk ships off coast. light flack over target. few searchlights. Saw two fighteers. Saw combat. Not a very good prang. Met winds at quick.

18/10/44 Bonn
Daylight trip. winds 100mph, clear over target. Bombing fair. Moderate heavy flak ver target and on way home. THick cu cloud over 18000. Quite a good trip.

22/10/44 Mining
Mining stouge. Easy trip no opposition at all. Mack dropped mines. Diverted to Lossienouth gen station.

26/10/44 Leverhausen
target in ruhr. daylight. Largest chemical factory in Europe. 10/10 cloud bombed on special instruments. light barage of heavy flack. Comparativly easy trip. Population of Cologne should be wearing gas masks tonight.

28/10/44 Flushing
Heavy gun position south east of town. Very accurate flakc over target, Saw Lanc go down and explode in sea four phutes. short trip but no picnicn 20th op.

30/10/44 Wesseling
Synthetic oil factory south east of Cologe 10/10 cloud, bombed on special instruments. Barage flack over target. Scattered attack dodged the flsck ok so we'er all right. Going on leave tomorrow?

8/11/44 Homburge
Synthetic oil effort again. Formation effoert on special equepment. Bombing poor. Ver scattered. INTENSE FLACK. f/lt right w/op. Saw Lanc go down and explode on deck 4 phutes seen. pretty hot place

15/11/44 Dortmund
As usual synthetic oil plant. Spare crew but we went just the same. Easier trip than we expected burgae flak over target. Saw "scarecrows". Consentrated attack. 10/10 clouds bombed on instruments. Quite a nice comfortable stouge.

20/11/44 Homberg
What a trip, tearing all over the sky to find the formation. Was i cheesed! u/s. bombing very scattered- did not think much of the trip. Diabolical weather on reaturn. Flying at 50 foot over channel. Very bumpy. On again tomorrow.

21/11/44 Homeberg
The milk run again> third trip to Hmberg. much better this time. Target definaty hit. As usual intense flak. Lanc blew up right in front of us. Saw V2's being launched on way back. 25th trip.

23/11/44 Gelsenkirchen
Oil dump right in middle of ruhr. Pretty deadly place accurate flak on run in over target. Bombing through solid cloud. Looked consentrated saw V2s being launched on way back.

27/11/44 Cologne
Railway yards on west bank of Rhine. Formation leader. very heavy barage, and predicted flack over target. Hit on bombing run. Several large holes in bombay, and on S.I. engine. Lucky to get away with it, dropped leaflets. Quite a fair percentage of bombs on aiming points. Saw V2's on way back.

30/11/11 Botterup
Target 3 miles north of Essen. Formation leader. Met winds u/s. 7 minutes late. Predicted flack over target but we were gone by the time the fire works started. Saw two air crafts go dwon in flames. A moderate prang p.s. rear gunner a "go" without paying a penny, low type!!

4/12/44 Oberhausen
Important target right in middle of the ruhr. We led the attack. 6 minutes late due to inaccurate mak winds. Moderate heavy flak. lost "w" and 'N'. Lucky hit on part of Jerry. We pvershot target, bombs proberly hit Essen. Two more to do. Will we get drunk!!

21/12/44 Trier
Main supply base for German army;s push. shock full of supplys and troops. Solid clouds over target, bombed on instruments. On way home saw clouds piersed with colums of black smoke indecating good bombing. One more to do.

14/12/44 Trier
Last trip today. Target marker. Went in 1 minute before zero hours to drop the target indecators for the main force. Clear over the target. Plenty of flak. Markers dropped ok. Orbited and came round for bombing run. Hit ith flak. Wizard prang. Had last look a germany France and Belgium. Finished with 31 done.
