My father Walter Rushen was in the territorials and was therefore called up straightaway. He was away for the duration of the war. He went to North Africa and did`nt return until l946. He was in The Royal Artillary.

When he returned home my youngest sister burst into tears and cried that she did`nt know who this strange man was!
