I was evacuted to my Aunt in Northampton when just six years old. My brothers stayed at home.
One day a doudlebug come over, no one knew what it was, but I did. I tried to tell my aunt it was a bomb, but she would not believe me. Then the engine cut out, I shouted to everybody to take cover, it came down on the house next door to my grandparents and the door from the bathroom fell onto the man in the bath. I was a hero for a few days after that!
